Is What You're Doing Today Getting You Closer To Where You Want To Be Tomorrow?

I have a confession to make. I’m guilty. Guilty of being a control freak.

I like thinking things through, planning and preparing (sounds a lot like procrastinating, right?). I’m really good at it too. Bummer that it’s not always beneficial for me…

Is it an illusion to think that you can always plan everything and be prepared for anything? And is it sometimes better to let go of the need to control and to trust that everything will run its course?

I think so. Because letting go of that control creates space and opportunity for taking action. doing rather then thinking, planning, preparing… Don’t get me wrong, you can be EXTREMELY busy thinking, planning and preparing... But is it helping you move towards your goals? Is it actually bringing you closer to what you want in your life? Hmmm…probably not.

To some extent, we might all be guilty. Guilty of being a control freak, from time to time.

That’s why it might be helpful to:

ask yourself if what you're doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow.

To be able to answer that question, you obviously first need to know where you want to be tomorrow. Once you have that figured out, you can start reflecting on your action.

What’s your answer to this question? Feel free to share YES or NO in the comments (see how many control freaks we have ;-) )
